Self-organized Graduation Dinner.

Right after a day of fun at the Bay of Fires, we met up with Sherry at Smokey Joe's to have our very own self-organized Graduation dinner.
Not only the company was good that night, but also the food. I mean it's a classic.. Each of us had our special dish and was guided by the owner on what's the best way to eat each one of them. He was also kind enough to gave us some dried mexican chilli to take home; which is way hotter than our normal chilli padi.

Well... I will just let the pictures do the talking...

Last day of the year

All good things have to come to an end.
This day was liken to my last day of the year;
a last outing that we had together as a family.
We met each other in Leprena.
I introduced Sarah to Bernice and Er li to Sarah.
That's how it all started. After spending a few months together, I've decided that you guys would make good housemates and hence I plotted for us to be together. Yes! For a good cause!
Thanks for being my friend, my family, my brothers and sisters.
I hope I have impacted your life for Christ and if I haven't, please forgive me.
Let all these beautiful memories remain in our hearts.
It's strange, a part of me wants the happy ending that is happening now, yet the other side of me was hoping that what others said about "housemates showing their true colours at the end" would come true. Perhaps, it just my way of escape from the feeling of leaving you guys.

Life and more abundantly

The flowers are blooming as it enters late spring.
The presence of busy bees are a common sight everyday.
I begin to wonder about the things that God has in store for me.
Life that is so full of mysteries, which makes me nervous at times,
yet having that store of surprises.
Knowing that I need not worry about my needs,
for the same God that created the lilies of the field is the one that made me.

Some shots of the plants that I've grown since Autumn. The sweet peas seeds were a gift from Clayton. Thanks Clay!

Look at the lupins!! They are finally budding.. I never thought I will get to see them flower..!! I have sowed these seeds since the begining of Autumn. I am really excited about the flowers that they are producing. I've bought the seeds from Salamanca when Lester visited earlier this year.
. Another great reward.. Just as I was reaping the fruit of my labour (academically), I get to experience the fruit of my labour (physically too). The brocoli are "flowering" and I can't wait to eat them with my housemates. A pity that Er li doesn't get the chance to eat them.

International Night

The thing that I did right after my last paper for the degree wasn't to celebrate with all my friends, but rather to tie up all the loose end preparations for the International night. Intense effort that was placed into it along with the lack of sleep and constant worries caused my eyes to appeared rather small in all the photos. Nevertheless, the event turned out really successful, with the most common compliment as a "very well organized event".

As happy as I might sound with the results of the outcome, the process was a rather intriguing one and had affected me quite badly during the period of time. Many reasons had contributed to this, first the lack of time for planning, next the lack of manpower, and the worst one of all, my mistake in under-budgeting the cost for printing. This had lead to a shortfall of $500 plus, which had been laid aside for the lucky draw prizes. Self-blame and disappointment begin to sink in, affecting my exam revision and sleep. I cried out to the Lord and requested for a miracle. I told my fellow committee member whom is also a brother in Christ, that if the Lord do this miracle for me, I will testify of His goodness. Praise the Lord for His goodness, true to His words, His faithfulness endures forever, the printing company took up the sponsorship for the $500. God is so amazing!!! Even one of my housemate was really surprised and starting proclaiming that Christ is real when I testified to him.

On top of that, I am really grateful to have such a good team for the event. Oh well.. enough of the planning part. Now for the actual photos

Presenting to you my Amazing housemates.

Can't bear to leave them. They are the reason why I've been so emo for the past few days.

Been receiving spiritual attacks recently, one after another, so much so that I felt like giving up.
I must press on and I am not alone.
After the valley will be the Peak.

Unidentified Gift

In the midst of receiving gifts from friends, it is normal for one to forget who's the giver, especially so when the name is not written.
Hahahaa.. *Excuse..
Anyway.... Can some kind soul find out who gave this?? I can barely recall who was it, but my memory tells me that it is from a young boy.
Oh yah... and during the flight, while examining the gifts, my aunt pop up this question.. Wah. who gave you this gift?? "I miss you ah..! Ayioh. so mushy"
My answer was like.. " Eh.. I can't remember. I only know it was from a boy".
*Pause.. Her face turned pale..
Hahahahahahahahhaahhahhaaaaha..
then I told her "its a young boy la"
then she said.. "Wah .. nowadays boys also say tell each other I miss you ah."
*Without a pause. Of course la.. Boys also humans mah. Nothing wrong with that. Brotherly love..

Hahaha..I am also not sure how that mentality came about?? Maybe she is worried that I might join the "Pride parade".. hahahahaha..
Chillz..

Oh! By the way, I am guessing this gift is from Joe Ho or his peers..

Scarf

Time for the next gift dedication..

This gift is given by a pair of sisters..

whom I will describe as a pair of musically-talented sisters.

They gave me something warm and nice.. but to be honest, doesn't really match my fashion sense over here. So I have decided Stephanie will inherit it when she comes over.

I didn't really want to blog during my exam period. But my ill disciplined habits got me into it.

To cut the post short.. Here's the flashy gift.

A bright orange-based scarf to go with the pair of gloves that kiat gave me.

Thanks girls.. It has been wonderful knowing you. I enjoyed those time singing acapella together, hanging out at the chalet, eating and singing at my aunt's place. Those are sweet memories which I will never forget. :)

To the end

I can't believe how time flies... We were still talking about our aspirations and how we should make full use of our time in Australia before we graduate.

In 2 weeks time, I will be done with my bachelor degree... Nope.. not doing honours anymore. I've changed my mind or rather I felt that it is not what God wants me to do.

the emotional part of me wants to linger on in the past, but yet I know it is important for me to move on. There are simply too many things that I am uncertain of... but one thing which I know.. God will be holding my hand. I know I have emphasized how faithful He is.. but yet, it doesn't justify not to mention it again.

Launceston had become the city of my life.. Wait. I know many of you will start questioning me about Singapore. Yes. .. that's my homeland.. .. ."There's no place I rather be, it always be a part of me.. and even though I roam the world.. ...still my home I rather be.. ".. .. and tell me where's Kit chan now??? So.. .... I love Singapore, but that doesn't mean I prefer the lifestyle there.. .. Look.. I'm running the Singapore Students Association here.. and lifting her name up high.. .. SO...that doesn't mean that if I am intending to stay here for the next few years will make me less patriotic than those $#^%$^$ residing in Singapore who never spare a thought of upholding our nation's reputation.

If given a choice, I would rather return back to Singapore.. Only if.. only if they can build a dome surrounding the whole atmosphere of Singapore and then air-conditioned the entire area.... Make it less humid and polluted.. Ooooo.. "Wouldn't it be nice.!!"
Yah la. I am returning back to Singapore on the 14th of Dec and I know the dome wouldn't be there. .. It's alright.... I understand... dun worry..

Ok.. time to bath and then oink..

Passing stream

My life turned grey after hearing the news from my sister.

I can't be distracted... too many things at one time.. Life must go on..

God is good and faithful is He who made me.

I look to the Maker of Heaven and Earth and there I found my solace.

He who is faithful do-eth great things and great things He shall do

OVER-LOADED

all I can remember is people telling me that you "are over-loaded", "have too much on your plate", "got too involved", "stressed yourself up too much".

These words seem to resonate within my thoughts as I looked at the array of tasks presented before my very stuffed-up, blood-shot veiny eyes.

I am convinced that I have sufficient sleep, perhaps not enough to be qualified as a beauty sleep.

Nevertheless, I know that God will enable me and pull me through this final 4 weeks; 2 weeks of assignments and 2 weeks of exams.

By then, I will be free... FREE!!! Free???

Eh.. not exactly.. You see.. I got myself involved in planning for the "End-of-2008 International night". It's basically a ball night, but as usual, the word "ball" might sound too grandeur for people to attend. For some girls, it might even sound like a soccer match or something.

You guys might be laughing now.. !! But that's the comments from some of the students.. Yeah.!!

Basically, the whole planning committee only have 1 month to arrange for the whole ball. Which basically includes everything from caterers, venue, performance, lucky draws, theme, decor, tickets, publicity, funding, sponsorships, and all that you can simply imagine for a ball night..

Yah... I miss out one.. Dance music.!! And the genera?

The ball is just one day after my last paper.. Now.. tell me how am I going to head the whole thing when it's only one day after my last paper??? *Faintz..

On the bright side, God has been really really good to me.

1. The funding of $2000 that I've applied through TUU was approved on Friday.

2. The poster and tickets design were settled on Thursday, printed on Friday and put up on Saturday. Before I carry on, I must thank God for such a lovely cousin in-law, who so willing took up the last minute request from me. Thanks a million Shuzhen.. !!! You are the best cousin-in law I have!!!!

3. Many other blessings, demonstrating God's hand upon the project. Woohoo!!

There are so many things to do after exams, find a house in Hobart, go fishing, watch drama, sing with Joanne, visit more places in Tasmania, find a job and earn some money and the list goes on....

Dedication

To the one who gave the screw.

This post is dedicated to you for the colours you have brought into my life.

I think it shouldn't be too hard for you to remember how you treated me during the earlier days of our friendship. Cold, bitter, and full of unacceptance.

Yet, through the years, you have never failed to amaze me with your focus on maintaining the friendship. I can vividly recall the words you wrote in my card.

Reminding me that I am a friend that you will never regret having.

True to the words, our friendship lasted through the storms and I am proud to say that you are my friend. :)

Thank you for the colours that you have given me.

And YES.. I still keep the screw, even though it must just be an accidental gift. Hopefully, one day it might find it's purpose somewhere.

Next featured gift

The next featured gift was from someone significant in my life too.. I've know this guy for close to 80% of my life, though we are not related to each other by blood. We been through the same kindergarden school, same tuition centre during our primary school, same class during secondary school, same bunk during BMT in the army. Even our parents were blown away by the fact that we are in the same bunk then. I believe God has a major role to play in this..

Well.. Very soon.. we left for our studies.. He went to UK and I came to Aussie. During his first year in Aussie, He sent a very special gift to each of us (the close friends). I can remember very clearly him telling me that he bought the gift for me so that I can measure the length of my fish tanks.. Such a witty remark.. More like measuring the thickness of my waist.. !!! muhahaa..

It has been two years since we last met and I am so looking forward to our gathering in December.. Yes.. 4 of us.!! This time round, hopefully nothing goes wrong.. * Fingers crossed and prayers made.

Yes... You figure it out.. Its a measuring tape..

Dedication to sheng

Back to the post on dedication of gifts.. Previous gifts includes gifts from U.Mark and A. Violet, Stephanie...

Well.... this gift is special.... !!! NO!! It is not given by my girlfriend.. (hahaha.. I dun even have one to start with). Infact, its given by a very good friend during my first departure for Tasmania..

Before you wonder what's so special about the gift.... !!?? Well.. It wasn't given intentionally.. You bet it wasn't...

Apparently, he left it accidentally in the plastic bag which bore the gift. The plastic bag was from Ikea.. Hmmm.. that should give you a clue now.. Something related to furnitures.. eh.. hahaha.

Upon reaching Tasmania, I received a sms from him apologizing for the item and hoping that it didn't cause me too much trouble.. Nope. It didn't! Infact, no one detected it.. Hahaha. Not even the sensor.. I was astonished by the sms and searched frantically for the item. I couldn't hold back but to burst into laughter.. *LOL

Well..... for the revealing of the mysterious gift...

It was a :

Well.. the screw came with a box of highlighters... (which I will feature in future post)

I'm sure he doesn't mean what he accidentally gave.. :P

Kids Club

During my time in Launceston. I was privilege enough to be involved in a community outreach organized by Zion Hill church. Basically, it was part of the church's programme to inculcate moral values into the children of the community. Children were taught against crimes and provided with food, singing, games and etc. It's interesting to observe the behaviour of each children and how lovely and smart some are.
This programme is held every Thursday evening and is known as Kid's Club..
Here're 3 pictures, where the kids were fed with pop corns and icing sugar.. These 2 girls are simply adorable.
She had icing sugar all over her la..

This kitty girl looks really adorable ...I told her to pose like a cat.

And she came up with this pose.. Meow!

And so as the story goes, there was a boy who had been enchanted by the sound of broadway musicals since the age of 10. It started off with "Les Miserables"~ followed by the "Phantom of the Opera". One after another, these musicals became a part of his life and music inspiration and had influenced his style of singing. He knew that it will never be possible for him to sing in a broadway production. Nevertheless, that did not stop his pursue of watching all the musicals. "Miss Saigon", "West-side story", "Wedding Banquet", one after another..
On one faithful night, as he was chatting with his friend on what musicals to watch. He got to know about "Wicked". Despite of the constraint in time and finance, he finally made the decision to fly to Melbourne city for the show. He already knew that it was going to be GOOD.

Even the newspaper is talking about it.
Regent theater
Another musical buddy

Splendid!!!

It was a full house!!! Woohoo...

Not very happily after the show, we had to run all the way back to our accomodation to catch the last bus.
