Yeah

Yah.. My fly screen had been fixed yesterday by the Residential Support officer. It was nice of her to do that, even though it was beyond her duties. I'm going to write a letter of commendation for her. Haha.
Today was our Ecology field trip day at Rocky shore, Low Head. I'm still suffering from the over-worked calf and bruised toes. Today's lesson made me understand that being a Ecologist is not easy, especially so when you have to walk on such terrains. Even though it was a hard session, I thank God for the beautiful weather and not forgetting His beautiful creations. I took so many pictures which is going to take me very long to upload. I'm hope my camera is still working cause I was so excited about taking photos of the organisms, that I submerged the whole lens into the water. It makes me wonder for a while "Why the picture look so clear ah?. How come there is no reflection of the water?" Silly me.. The whole lens was in the water, hence no reflection la. I immediately remove the camera and tried to dry it up with my shirt.
Well.. Since it is going to take me a long time to upload the photos. I might as well tell you the interesting organisms that I saw.
Purple Sea urchins, Pink, Red and Orange star fish, Hairy Brittle stars (another kind of star fish), Pink sea cucumber, Black Sea slug, Cute mini crabs, Tube worms, Colourful segmented worms, Red Anemone, Electric GREEN Anemone and many more..
How I wish I can put all of them into my aquarium. Sigh. I can't.. cause I dun own a marine tank. Hiah..... Anyway, did I mentioned that a 11 year old boy spotted a fresh water jelly fish in Tasmania. The first-ever fresh water jelly fish been spotted in Tasmania.. Cool.. To me, I didn't even know fresh water jelly fish exist. It was featured in the newspaper yesterday. Haha.. Hmmm.. I can put this into my aquarium. Muahaha..
Next.. .. Did I mentioned in my last post that on the way back from Maria island. A dolphin was riding on the waves produced by our ferry. The dolphin was frolicking about as it followed us... How nice !!! No.. I can't put it in my tank.

Taa..

Drunk

I was approached last night to drink again. As usual, I turned them down. The consequences this time round was high. A drunk lady came to my window and pulled off the whole fly screen, leaving me stunt. I rang up the student accomodation officer and reported the incident to her. I went to the accomodation office to log on a maintenance report this morning and was told that they will be able to repair it by Monday. Sigh.... So much work and so much problems. Yet, I will still praise You.. My Redeemer and Saviour. You are to be praise not based on circumstances, but for who You are.

Easter Trip

I woke up at 5am on Monday morning to get ready for the Easter trip. There were so many preparations to be done. Library books to be returned thru' the "drop-in" hole and petty cash to be withdrawn from the ATM.
Andy and Edwin were the drivers for this trip. Thank God for them!! Seriously, it is not easy to drive the van and bearing the responsibility of having so many people on board.
There were students from Malayisa, Japan, China, Thailand and Singapore for the trip. It took us 2 hrs to reach Swansea and by that time, we realized that we'll not be able to catch the ferry on time for Maria Island. There was a change in plan and the majority felt that we should do Maria island on Tuesday instead. We de-toured our way to Coles Bay and while the group made their way to the "Wine-glass" Bay outlook.

Vicky, Yoke Chye and I decided that we should prepare the BBQ lunch at Honeymoon Bay so that others will be able to enjoy lunch after the walk. We had bbq Kebab, chicken wings and sausages with bread for lunch. Honey-moon bay is pretty different more shores, concerning the fact that it is made out of rocks instead of sand. The ecosystem of it is simply amazing and fascinating. I can't help but to take a few pictures of it.
Notice that there isn't any shore line made out of sand. It is termed as "Rocky Shore"

Little unidentified, shell-like stuff. They look pretty and shimmering under the sun:

The most fascinating thing about Honey Moon Bay is this little ecosystem. My camera is unable to capture the details of the organisms present in this system. There were shrimps, algae, kelps, small pelgagic fishes and bethos like the gobies. I wanted to bring the whole system home. LOL! I told Sarah that I would love to setup something like this back home. On a serious note, I know that I will never able to setup something as well as our Creator did.

After lunch, we made our way to the exact site of Wine-glass bay. It took us 2 hours by foot to reach wine glass bay. The hike was a tricky one and I never thought I will be able to accomplish it. The depth of the mountain was quite similar to what I climbed during our Cebu mission trip, but the journey was twice as long. There were no proper steps for you to climb but were barely made out of rocks. I was abit worried from the look of the height and my legs started to wobble when I made my way down. "Jelly-legs" from height phobia... I think the girls were much braver than me. Hahaha.

The journey though hard and tiring, was a fulfilling one. We were greeted by an adult Wallabee upon reaching the bay.

This is where we emerged from after the climb. I guess part of the reason why Wine Glass Bay retains its prestine state got to do with the level of difficulty in reaching it.

The whole group of us (excluding 5 of the students who were not able to make it over)

Sadly, we had to leave the beach very soon after reaching. It was important for us to make our way back to the other side before the sky darkens. A little pademelon bid us farewell before we made our way out.

We spent our night over at Bechino's Backpacker Inn and went Penguin spotting during the evening. I wanted to take pictures of the penguin but was told that it will blind them. We saw 2 isolated penguins. It was a rare sight since penguins are usually spotted in groups. Poor fellow, perhaps it had a similar fate to the "Happy-feet" guy. The sky was brighten by million of stars and Kiwamu, our Japanese friend said that part of it could be "Milky Way". I'm not sure about that but it does inspired me to praise God once again. We also got to see "Pot-hole" in action. I'm not sure why it is termed as a pot-hole when it is pretty much of a geyser. Perhaps, what we learnt during seconday school is wrong all this while or is it the same?

The next morning, we had to wake up much earlier to ensure that we made it to the ferry terminal on time. "Maria 1", our ferry to Maria Island took us 30 minutes to reach the island.

Many of the old-time structures found on Maria island.

Mrs Han's house (built in the 1900s) It served as a light house for ships and was an important structure during the war. It functioned as an out-post as well as a residential area for the commander.

I'm not sure what's this. Looks like red plums that are attached to the rocks.

Presenting to you the "Painted Cliffs" Pictures not done justice! Painted cliffs were cut by the convicts present on the island during the 1900s.

I was tempted to make it to the other side of the cliff. It required certain level of balance and agility. I made it half-way while Vicky and Sarah (Wonder women) ventured to the far end.

While waiting for them to return, I took picture of an ant. An ant on "Painted Cliff"!!! Ants are travellers and they reach many areas which many humans fail to reach.

I thank God for all the amazing creatures and landscapes. We made our way back through the easy coast where mountains and rivers are pretty much of the backdrops. Listening to my Ipod, I was able to relate to the composer's gratitude towards God for songs like "I could sing of Your love forever" and "Hear our praises". It is when the song connects to the heart and knowing what we are truly singing about, that brings a sweet offering to the Lord.

I thank God for the journey mercies and for the enjoyable time!

Dishes

Some of the food prepared by our Korean friends.
The main dish in the centre is known as "Dduk Bok Ki" (Stir-fried rice cake)

Easter Trip

Church service was good today. I thank God for enabling me to accomplish my essay draft. There are still alot of revision to catch up though. The Koreans made dinner tonight. It was yummylicious! We ate "Dduk Bok Ki", a dish made out of rice cakes with spicy sauce. It tasted abit like curry vegetables. Sarah's first attempt in making a cake turn out bad. The whole cake was burnt. Seriously, the oven has been abit cranky for the past week. Sigh.. Poor gal.. I hope she is not affected by it. It's her 21st Birthday tomorrow and the cake was meant for celebrating her birthday. We had roast chicken that I bought from Woolworths "closing-hour"sale for $3.50. The original price was $11 plus. What a steal. I bought 2; freezed one and ate one the next day for lunch and dinner. Hehee.. Junming and gang got 2 of the birds. The poor lady behind the queue was left with a scrawny, one drum-stick missing bird. She was abit turn-off by our "kiasuism". Hahaha...

I will be away for Easter trip the next 2 days. 24 of us are going to Maria island and the east coast. There will be students from multi-nationals even though the trip was planned by SSA.(Singapore Student Association) Please pray for journey mercies and favours.. :)

Anyway, I heard a good news from my sis that my dad has accepted Christ in church today. He has decided to attend church every sunday. Praise God! My childhood wish and life-time prayer had been answered partially. Now for my mom and gramps... Saints of God! Pls pray!

Birthday Wish!

Happy Birthday Karen! Oh.. my Dear sister. ROFL!
See... I wish you the day before and the day after. Making it a "sandwich" wish!
You are so bless!! Muahaha.

I intended to send you a bouquet of flowers via Far East Flora online. It cost me S$50 and I thought you are likely to say that it is the thought that counts. So I'm thinking of it now.. and my thought counts. Yeah!

Food fair-a success

The International food fair was a success, result of the huge turnout. Sarah, Er Li and I setup a stall selling Tempura Mushrooms, Vegetables and Banana. There was a huge response for it but we made a mistake by not pre-frying the stuff. Demand exceeds supply and customers had to wait 45 minutes for their order. Many customers refunded their money. Sadly.. Thank God! We managed to cover our intial cost and earn a profit of $10 and have bags of fresh mushrooms left. Hahaha. Yeah. I going to make tempura mushroom for Jun Ming and gang tonight. Hahaha.
We drove Er Li to the airport last night. He is visiting his sister at Brisbane. Cool. Hahaha. I must try to arrange time to visit June, Sarah, Venetia and Joshua in the future. Hahaa. Anyway, did I mention that it was my first time hitting the highway yesterday. Haha. The passengers were screaming. (I think it's the psychological effect caused by the "L" Plate) I was driving at a turtle speed of 60km/h on a highway lor. And Sarah was like screaming.. "Too fast.. Too fast"..
"Dot-Dot-Dot"

Will be sending Bernice to the City with her luggage today. She is going to Hobart and will be taking the "Red-line" bus service. Sigh.. How I wish I can go too..

Anyway.. Till then. Tata

Praise God

Stress level was high today.
Ecology assignment due next week and I have not even started anything yet.
International Food Night is tomorrow and there are so many things to be done. Thank God for time to cut the coupons this afternoon. I hope everything will turn out well.
Easter Trip is next week and I have yet to collect payment from the students. I'm really looking forward to the trip. We will be going to Maria island and the whole east coast. Hopefully we will be able to visit "Wine-glass bay". The pictures look amazing.
During Zoology practical, I was abit depressed due to the overwhelming workload. But thank God for amazing test results.
I scored the highest in class, though I seriously thought I didn't answer well. 95/100. Well.... I guess it is those times when the unexpected becomes real, and that's when God is truly glorified. Glory to God!!
