Church
I almost couldn't make it to church today. Somehow I was late for 5 minutes and Brent assumed that I decided to sleep in today. I reached the pick-up point at around 9.48 and waited for a while. I thought it is normal for Brent to be late, cause he is usually 10-20 minutes late. I waited for a around 15 minutes and decided to give him a call, but to no avail. I waited for another 5 minutes and gave him a another call. I was about to gave up calling and thought I should just walk back to my hostel. Its amazing how much I saw during the wait. I saw Andy Heah (a Singaporean that had migrated to Tassie) at Jun Ming's house. He shouted out my name and we exchanged some greetings. He said that he is moving to Hobart for good. This is so sad. I just got to know him and he is already leaving. Across the road from where I was waiting, there is this old granny waiting in excitement for somebody. She was swinging her bag to and fro as she waited patiently. She was too far away for me to strike a conversation with her. We just kept looking at each other as we waited for people to pick us up. This time round, I decided that I should give a Greg a call. I asked Greg whether it will be alright for him to give me a ride to church and explained that I couldn't get Brent on the line. As I waited for Greg to arrive, a white saloon car came and out came a gentleman from the driver's seat. He greeted the elderly lady "Nan" I supposed the old lady must be either his mum or granny. He cleared the backseat as the granny made her way into the car. There was another little girl in the backseat and I heard "Oh my precious darling" The granny looks happy as the car drove off. I waited for another 5 more minutes and was happy to see Greg. After the church, I was told by Thilmi that she wouldn't be able to give me a ride back today. I looked around and found Angelia. Her car is packed with people but she was kind enough to call someone to pick up her daughters up so that she could give me a ride home. I waited as she made banana ice cream out of frozen bananas. (Tempted to get that machine) James from Malaysia ( a doctor, GP) offered to give me a ride home. I told Angelia about it and she was rather happy about it too. By the way, Angelia and Greg are couples and both of them stay in Ravenswood (where the church is) This means that they will be making rounds to and fro if they would have to send me home. On the way back home on James's car, I was fascinated with the development of Anna Grace. (James and Wendy's daughter) Anna Grace is barely 2 years of age and she could reason and logic with her parents. She understands words and could repeat what her parents say. I told Wendy that it must be genetical. (Both James and Wendy are doctors) It was fun saying how Anna Grace kicked her mother front seat when she realized that her mum was talking about her. Hahaa.. Interesting..! I love kids. I miss Elizabeth at home. (The little girl that my mum babysit) Taa
Formal Dinner
We had a wonderful formal dinner organized by accommodation office on Wednesday night. I enjoyed the food throughly. We were supposed to visit Hugh's place after the dinner but forgotten all about it.
Anyway, here are a few photos:
From top-bottom, left to right: Sun yong (from Korea), Sarah,
Er li and myself.
/
The two Aussie girls:
Libby and Lyray.
Libby is from Penguin (yes, as in the city Penguin) and Lyray is from Hobart.
This reminds me of a joke. There was one time when Libby mentioned that her father owns a farm in Penguin. So I got pretty curious and asked her what kind of vegetables does her father grow. Well .. She mentioned the usual such as cauliflower, Brocoli, Cabbage, Lettuce and etc.
Sarah came along and I told her that Libby's father owns a farm! So Sarah was all excited and exclaimed "really!".. "Where?" She said. Libby answered in full sentence. "Oh.. my father owns a farm in Penguin."
The best part comes when Sarah looks in amazement.. and said "Wah!! Your father owns a penguin farm?".. Well.. the whole group burst out laughing.
Trust Sarah! Penguin farm!

Familiar
Unfamiliar voices,
unfamiliar songs.
unfamiliar pastors,
unfamiliar ground
unfamiliar altar,
unfamiliar style.
BUT... One thing remains the same...
A familiar touch within the inner soul.

First Cinema Trip
I had my first cinema trip in Tasmania.. Yeah! Guys over in Singapore. Stop !! Complaining that movie tickets are costly! It cost $14.50 for adult tickets and $11.50 for students tickets and their seats, sound system and screen isn't half as good as what you'll get in Singapore. Seriously, I will never complain about ticket cost in Singapore anymore. Haha.
BUT thank God for free tickets! Remember me mentioning that I won 2 free movie passes during the year 1 orientation day. Yeah.. So I used one of them and saved $11.50..
SO much for the cinema... ! SO what about the show I watched? Well... I watched Spiderman 3..
It was a pretty good show with all the cinematic effects and story line.. (Though I must admit the ending sucks..!! ) Oohhh.... Yeah! I can hear some old man snoring behind me throughout the show. It wasn't really that bad though. Haha. It was rated highest box office in Australia.. (I think)

New Kitchen
S block kitchen got a revamp.. .. Here you go.. Its green.. (I didn't choose it!)
We have a new island bench and new fridge too.
But inspite of all this.. I'm still going to move out of Leprena. Infact, I can't wait to move out.
Imagine some of your kitchen mates asking you to go somewhere else to cook and commenting on your food for whatever uncalled for reasons.
And complaining that you bath at night.
I am moving and I'm happy. So are Sarah and Er Li who are moving along with me. Hehehe.
By the way, my exam timetable is out. I have 3 papers; one on the 9th, 14th and 21st. So sickening la.. Waste my hols. Can't they just put all in 2 weeks. .. ggrrrrhhhh..
Pls pray for my revision and results. Tks!

Ag Fest
Trust me guys.. .. Agfest is fantastic. I couldn't enjoy myself more..
Though I must honestly say that the photos doesn't do it justice.
Anyway here you go:
Lamas:
Ewe lambs:
Dividing the goats from the lambs or is it the other way round. Haha.
Alpacas
Tasmanian fox scare:
Shark meat:
Freshwater Giant crayfish that is exactly as old as me. Haha.
Chicks
Mediator (the title of Lester's latest blog)
Agfest is more than animals! Tractors..
Cute tractors
Stupid Choir singing about Global Warming being a fraud.
They are good..
So is she:
and also her handy work:
Booth selling bears:
Rows and rows of shops..
Dirt track driving.
Interesting bi-banded cows.
Sarah requesting for a picture with her favourite car. In Singapore, girls get paid to take pictures with cars la..and of course their potential owners too. (you know what I mean)
And one of my fav. segment: Sheepdog competition. The sheep dogs are to accomplish different task.. (ridiculous) by leading the stubborn.... and dumb... sheeps....in and out of structures. What!!
And this is for Karen: (Not bear for you.. But got picture not bad already.. ) haha
The group of Agfesters. Hahaa.
Overall.. I thank God for the safe journey to Carrick. It was a pretty long journey and we made a few wrong turns..But thank God for journey mercies..
By the way, I just handed in my rocky shore report today... (It felt like a heavy rock lifted from my shoulder) I hope to do well though I am not really pleased with the product. :p

It is funny
It is funny!
It is funny why the Chinese students are always quieten down promptly before they can make any noise, and why the Caucasians chatter away like a birds roosting on a celling top and no one bothers.
It is funny why the Chinese students are the ones clearing the rubbish, while the Caucasians do lip service by saying "Sniff Sniff! Argh.. this smells bad.. Jon! Come and smell it".
It is funny why the Chinese students are blame for any tragedy that happens even though no one really know the reason for their outburst. (Virginia Tech. University Shooting reported, A CHINESE STUDENT SHOT blah blah blah, even though it was a South Korean student)
It is funny how the Caucasian can have the cheek to ask Chinese students whether they own any guns when the Caucasians are the one reputed for it.
How funny! Dunch you agree?
You are ALRIGHT if you dun.
It is simply too noisy to leave in Leprena at times. Arghh.. Its like living in UniBar.
LOL!

Leprena
My kitchen is getting a revamp this week. I am starting to see new structures coming up. Coincidentally, the colour of the furnitures are green. I will get to start off with this new facilities for the first few weeks and will be moving to a new place at the end of this semester. What a good deal! hahaa.
Agfest is up this week. Its an annual event not to be missed. I'm crossing my fingers that I will get enough people to join me for the trip. (Petrol will be much cheaper in this way) So cool. So fun. Hahaa. I am expecting it to be good, considering that they are charging $12 for entrance fee. Incase you guys are wondering what's Agfest? Its the giant version of "Pasar Malam", focusing mainly on agriculture-related stuff, Fine Tasmanian Food and Art and craft work. I'm going, I'm going. It helps to clock up hours for my driving too. Cool.. :)
Will take pictures. :)
