Yellow and blue

5 more weeks to welcome Spring.
Yet, the daffodils have greeted me with their cheery yellow
and the anemone with their optimistic blue.
Presenting the big sister.

The second sister

And the youngest sister.

By now you must be thinking how come they are ranked in hierarchy.
And how do I know who comes first; especially when they all looked pretty much alike.
Oh well.. they bloomed in succesions.

Presenting to you "St Brigid Blue Anemone"
???????????
Wait a minute, isn't it suppose to be blue..??
Oh well... it beats me too.. I can't figure out why it turns purple.. LOL.
Anyway, this is the first flower and I still can't explain why all of them are blooming during winter. It must be the hot house beside them that's giving off heat at night.

Peas and beans

Growing your own vegetables seriously cultivates one's patience.

It took me 4 months (March-July) to be able to see the fruit of my labour
and as a matter of fact, they aren't ready to eat yet.

These snow peas were sowed in March in my little green house.

During winter (June), I transferred them to my big green house.
During that time, there was already one pea. YES... One pea growing.

I was hoping to give the snow pea plant some luxurious living condition,
however, it didn't turn out the well I would like it to.

The big green house was blown down by the strong storm that strike Hobart a few weeks ago. The pea plant was left strandling on the ground, looking injured and pathetic when I came back from class. There was nothing much I could do, but to put the poor plant back into the fixed-up green house and said a prayer for it

(Hahaha.. Yeah. I know it sounds funny to some of you, but there's the most I can do).

This was the first pea that sprouted. Can you see the battle scar? LOL..

I didn't grow this plant. According to my sister's classmate, this is Holland bean. Can you tell the difference between which is which if I have not mentioned it to you?

Gordan Dam

Two days after June left, my friends from Launceston came over to Hobart for a visit. We had a wonderful time catching up with one another. Yoke Chye, Linda, Er Li and Cheng Ngai stayed over at my place for one night. The next day, Yoke Chye brought us to Gordan Dam. It was a winding 2 hours drive and I simply had to thank Yoke Chye for his effort to bring us to this wonderful place even though he has been there before.

The look from the dam itself.
Walking on the dam.

The Dam (Sounds like some kind of movie title)
Er Li and I were discussing about the potential of this place being used for a movie.
We were discussing along this line.
1. Zombies crawling from all over the mountains reaching for you
2. Bad guys chasing you as you attempt to escape from their clutches.
3. You running from one point to the other as the dam collapses.
4. Godzilla breaking the dam as water gushes in (Er Li thought of this one)
The other fun part of the dam was the sound revibrations made when you shout across the dam.
We were clapping our hands, hitting the metal poles, screaming, making animal noises, shouting and singing. I couldn't resist singing and belted out parts of "somewhere over the rainbow", "You raised me up" and "I dreamed a dream". Hahahaa..
No!!! Susan boyle didn't visit Gordan Dam. Jonathan Boy did.. hahaa
One last look of the Gordan Dam.. Ahhhh..

Part of the forest were submerged under water due to the flooding caused by the dam. The canopy of the trees appeared as some kind of island collectively.

PTL for the results

I usually don't blog about my results, but I find this neccesary as I have promised to give God the glory. I recalled labouring through the past few months, wanting to give up on what I am studying as I simply have no pre-knowledge on business administrative subjects and doing a post-graduate course on it was not really a very good idea. To the point of desperation, I cried out to God and told Him that my results for this semester would clearly demonstrate that my results for all these years was a result of His faithfulness to me. People might say that Aquaculture is a course which I am interested in and have prior knowledge on it and thus was able to score well, and that perhaps I was simply regurgitating out all I have memorized for the exams. On the contrary, the business administration course was pretty much assignments-based and tested one's critical thinking abilities and project-planning skills.
Seriously, I was in the verge of breaking down and was afraid of failing this course. Nevertheless, God granted me on what I asked and surprised me with high distinctions and distinctions for this semester. Glory to Him alone..

Not forgetting to thank Steph for helping me with the housework during the period of time and to Cheryl for preparing dinner during my exam period. You are a great chef!!! Have confidence in yourself.

Birthday Celebration

Sorry for the lack of updates. It has been a few busy weeks for me ever since I finished my work experience at the farm. Steph and I flew over to Melbourne to catch up with friends who came all the way from Singapore and Brisbane. We had wonderful 2 days in Melbourne, where most of the time were spent eating and "re-charging" our city life experience. (Tasmania is sky scrapers deprived). There were some random thoughts of moving over to Melbourne next year and after some financial calculation, the thought of it disappeared.

June and Leo came over to Tassie for 6 and 7 days respectively. We had a wonderful time singing, eating, joking and imagining Lester's presence in our midst. It really brought much smile to my face. Most of the photos were taken with June's and Leo's camera. I only have photos of my birthday celebration. We went to this famous Greek Restaurant in Hobart, which probably serve one of the best food in Tasmania. After dinner, we make our way to Mures for ice cream before heading home. Somehow I could sense that there was a birthday cake somewhere and behold when I open the fridge I saw the cake box in it. Not wanting to spoil their mood, I pretended nothing was seen and carried on with the normal activity.

Photo taken with Charismatic Leo and Talented June.
I feel so priviledge to stand between them la.

Photo taken with my housemates and my 2 VIPs.

Delicioso Chocolate Mud Cafe..
Thanks to Cheryl and Steph for sharing the cake..

I enjoyed my birthday celebration this year.

This brings along some thoughts on how fast each year passes, I was only celebrating my birthday at Whitsunday island last year.
